EasyThreed DORA – 3D Printer Review

Welcome to the review of the EasyThreed DORA 3D Printer. A very good option to start in 3D Printing with LCD touch screen and upgraded components from the EasyThreed NANO.

EasyThreed DORA

The EasyThreed DORA 3D printer is a very good option to start in 3D Printing. Specially focused for beginners, kids and education. You can buy this 3D Printer right now for about 200 € in the EasyThreed online store.

First of all, the exterior size is 305 x 250 x 268 mm. The print volume in this case is 120 x 120 x 120 mm. So as a result you can print nice objects in a small-medium size, as you can see at the end of review.

In second place, as you can see in the video the build quality is very decent. The printer itself is very compact and good looking. For instance, you could literally expose it as a piece of art at home.

Furthermore, the printer is very light. Not as light as the EasyThreed NANO, but quite light as well with a weight of 6kg. For example, you could bring it home from your office etc very easy.

This feature together with its compact design, will transform our EasyThreed DORA into a 3D Printer for mobility. A transportable 3D Printer.

Despite the print quality is better in our Architects3DP i3, it’s much more difficult to transport, since it’s heavier and the cables are in the exterior, so you could unplug something by accident.

More details about the EasyThreed DORA

There are two versions of this 3D Printer. The basic model features an easy 4 button configuration. The EasyTreed DORA reviewed in our YouTube Channel Architects3DP, features a 2.8 inches LCD touch screen. You can see all the menus in our video on YouTube.

This printer can print at high speeds, but the faster it prints, the noisier it gets. I’ve been using it with a print speed of 40 mm/s, since it’s the most balanced configuration I’ve found in between speed and noise.

In this case, we’ll also find a layer fan inside the extruder block, so we will be able to print models with complicated bridges or overhangs.

In conclusion, the features of this 3d printer make the EasyThreed DORA, for example a perfect gift for kids, for students, for school or to start in the world of 3D Printing.

Slicer Software for the EasyThreed DORA

I use this 3D Printer with the profile that I have created in Ultimaker Cura. For that you can follow my series of tutorials for Ultimaker Cura that I uploaded in my channel a while ago.

Furthermore, the manufacturer includes as well its propietary 3d slicer, e3d, in the included SD Card.

In short, you can use this printer with any slicer of your choice. For instance, I’m going to upload a video tutorial about how to configure Ultimaker Cura for the EasyThreed NANO and DORA 3D Printers. Remember to subscribe to Architects3DP on Youtube to be notified when this video is uploaded!
