Which is the best 3D Printer Fan?

Normally the stock 3d printer fan work pretty well, specially during the first weeks. Unless you buy a good printer such as the original Prusa i3 MK3, MK2S, etc. Normally all consumer 3D printers come mainly from China, and all of them use the typical 3D Printer fan that measure 40 by 40 by 10 mm and you can buy from Amazon, eBay, etc. for only 1€.

This kind of 3D Printer fan are not bad the first week, but after a couple weeks of use, they start making weird noises, or even stop working at all.

The 3D Printer fans are pretty easy and cheap to upgrade, and in our case we decided to upgrade the fans of the CTC Prusa i3 Pro B 3D Printer that we bought a few months ago, and you can buy for 99€ on amazon here:

The stock fans on the CTC Prusa i3 Pro B?

The stock 3D Printer Fan changed every time I bought this 3D Printer. First time I bought one on May 2017 and it came with one of the fans that was not working at all. I asked the seller and he sent me another one for free. After a few months I bought the same printer one more time, and I had no issues with the 3D Printer fan.

It includes to of the same 3D Printer fan, one installed on the nozzle, and the other one to cool down the electronics. You should always install a 3d printer fan for the layer cooling, so you will be able to get a better quality in your prints. I bought a pack of 4 x 40mm fans on amazon for only 12.99 €, so less than 3.25 € per fan! You can buy them from here:

This fans worked well during a lot of time, but after a few months, they became a bit more noisy and some started weird noises as if they were going to break.

Noctua NF-A4x10 FLX

I finally opted for buying 3 Noctua fans, with the dimensions of 40 x 40 mm and and a thickness of 10 and 20 mm. I bought two 10 mm version to cool down the extruder and the electronics, and a 20mm version for the layer fan duct, that will have a better static pressure.

I've been using them for quite a long time, and the noise is exactly the same, none. They are extremely silent and quite, and the airflow is significantly higher than with the stock fans. It's a very cool option to go with, and I totally recommend you to buy them for relatively cheap on Amazon from the next links as well:
